Singapore Air New Generation Business Class

This article is about the experience of travelling in Business Class on my favorite airline- Singapore Airlines.

Singapore Airlines’ Suite Class has made a sensation in media that everyone must have seen: private suite, malossol caviar, Dom Perignon and an excellent service.

I assume these are the things that anyone would expect from travelling in luxury cabin.

My aim is to show you that apart from impressive Suite Class, Singapore Airlines have a certainly unique and exceptional Business Class.

We are talking about the new configuration B777 business cabin.

The whole experience starts from priority check-in and access to lounge. Now, Singapore Airlines lounges are one of the best: a very relaxed atmosphere, oriental design and availability of freshly made cocktails, champagne, variety of wines, cold and warm food buffets- indeed a 5 star experience.

Priority boarding upon arrival to the aircraft and a chilled welcome drink is on the way before you even take your seat.

ON BOARD

SEAT

Singapore Airlines are famous for its 34-inch-wide business class seat which is considered the widest in its class. The seat is equipped with everything you need if you are planning to work while in the sky: chargers, big strong table, reading lights, usb ports, power supply, even you can call from the flight using the in-seat telephone.

If you decide to take a rest , the crew member will be there immediately preparing your fully-flat bed completed with duvet, pillows and linen. Unlike other business seats which extend in order to transform into bed, Singapore Airlines seats bends from the back making the surface of bed stable, straight and one piece. Indeed, it makes you feel like your sleeping on a bed, not on the seat.

Also, the SIA business class seats have stowage space and a mirror.

Needless to say, every seat is forward facing in 1-22-1 configuration and has an access to the aisle.

ENTERTAINMENT

SIA offers a great onboard entertainment: movies, TV programs, hundreds of music albums, games, destination guides and many more. Each seat has an 18-inch HD LCD screen.  There is an in-flight SilverKris magazine with the latest news, destination tips and lots of other useful entertaining information.

Selected flights have a Wi-Fi connectivity, multimedia and text messaging, so it is very easy to stay connected to your loved ones even when on flying.

Recently, SIA introduces a Companion Mobile App which allows you to discover what’s on KrisWorld entertainment before you step on board. You can link your phone to the seat and use the phone instead of the touch screen remote control provided by airline.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

SIA offers a rich selection of fine wines, French champagne, on-board prepared cocktails, TWG fine teas, Illy coffee and a number of other soft drinks.

Travelling business class gives you an option to ‘book a cook’ which means you will have to reserve a meal prior to the flight. This means you can choose between having a vegan or, maybe, an angus beef burger, or dim sum if you want.

If you decided to go with the flow and to choose your meal from whatever the menu aboard offers, then you will still be left with a huge choice of dishes: satays, starters, choice of 3-4 mains, cheese board, selection of deserts, pralines and light snacks if you are not up to a huge meal.

Singapore airlines does a restaurant setting with white table cloth, stewardesses come up with the bread basket which consists of 4-5 different bread types and one of them is a all time favorite cooked on board garlic bread.

What I like is that every passenger is provided with lots of attention and there is no common serving meals from trolley like on other airlines.

To sum up, the dining experience on SIA Business Class is  beyond expectation.
